Day 1:
This morning we will meet for savory coffees and fresh baked pastries before boarding our private seaplane at your chosen lake front location. Is there any land, or building you want to see on the way? Just let your pilot know as we head out to see our first of three sparkling lakes! We will fly over beautiful tree-clad mountains, and valleys ribboned with creeks and rivers. If you’re a geology student, you’ll recognize the U-shaped valley of the Purcell Trench. You will be amazed by the numerous waterfalls and alpine lakes that dot this wild backcountry as we head to our beachfront resort landing. Here you will find lakeside log cabins nestled between towering cedars and pines, all with fantastic views of Idaho’s crown jewel lake and the Selkirk Crest. After some free time to settle into your accommodations, we will take an exciting boat ride to a private island. While we are on the island, we will visit an authentic log cabin built in 1897, now preserved as a historical site. Look closely at the walls and you will see the initials of long dead trappers, miners, and hunters who used this cabin at the turn of the century. There are trails to explore and even an old mine site dug by the original owners of this cabin. On the return trip to our cabin, toss out a line and enjoy the thrill of Idaho’s best fishing. This evening you will be entertained by a local historian while a local culinary artist prepares and serves the dinner you have prearranged in advance. Dine under a canopy of stars with a roaring campfire.
Day 2:
Today we will explore a remote, road free area by water. You will be challenged to decipher ancient Native American pictographs, spot nesting osprey and eagles along the shoreline, and locate deer and elk as they drink along the water’s edge. We will navigate a quiet, shadowy channel between the lower and upper lakes where the water is clean and calm. We will enjoy lunch in a hideaway known for its solitude and unspoiled, secluded beauty. While here you can swim or sun on the powdery, pure white sand beach, fish for world famous Mackinaw, or take a hike in search of flora and fauna. Later today, the more adventurous can try an ATV ride to an amazing waterfall/natural rock waterslide lined with moss and tiny ferns. Play amid the numerous pools created by this natural wonder as it cascades down the mountainside. If you prefer, there is a challenging 18 hole golf course built among the towering forest and lush wetlands so characteristic of this area. There is so much to do here; canoeing, kayaking, water-skiing, mountain biking, hiking, or just relaxing in the shade of a gigantic cedar tree. Season permitting, there is also huckleberry picking with the experts who know the best places. They will even help you hunt for elusive morel mushrooms! Tonight, you will be ready to relax in the privacy of your luxurious accommodations, swapping stories of your adventures and discoveries.

Day 3:
This morning we board our seaplane to continue our journey to the largest, most beautiful lake in Idaho. Our route will take us over heavily forested mountains with sheer rock cliffs plunging into deep, glacier carved valleys teeming with wildlife. We will pass over canyons and gorges cut by cascading snow melt. Once again, we will land beachfront at our spectacular resort where you will be pampered in your private suite. This afternoon you can join us as we travel to the top of the Selkirk Mountain Range via chair-lift, rising vertically to 6400 feet. Our local guide is well educated on the wildlife and plants in this area (huckleberry picking, season permitting!). Have your camera ready because we are in the domain of some of nature’s most magnificent animals. On a clear day, you can even see the snow-capped Canadian Rockies in the distance! If you don’t want to ride the chairlift back down, you may choose to ride down on a mountain bike or walk back to the bottom.
This evening you will be free to explore one of North Idaho's most artistically blessed towns or enjoy the amenities of our beautiful resort.
Day 4:
Today on our private boat, we will explore some of the 111 miles of pristine shoreline that is home to moose, elk, big-horn sheep, and eagles. There are numerous islands to spot, even one that is an ancient Native American burial site. In some places the mountains plunge into this lake to depths of over 1100 feet. Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch on a pebble beach amid nature and abundant hiking trails. Be sure to watch for mountain goats and big-horn sheep clinging to the rocky cliffs that make up the backdrop of this heavenly place.
Later this afternoon, we will board our private seaplane for a scenic flight back to Lake Coeur d’ Alene.
