Day 1:
We will begin with fresh juices and pastries aboard our private aircraft. Our flight this morning will take us over North Idaho and Western Montana’s most spectacular scenery! Your pilot will be pointing out the numerous sparkling lakes and streams that literally ribbon these mountain ranges everywhere below you. We will be met at the airport by our local guide who will detail how this area was formed thousands of years ago, while we drive through the canyon on our way to the park. The scenery along this drive will be dramatic with the mountains rising high around you and the glittering river beside you. Keep your eyes out for grazing deer and elk and other wildlife that abounds in this area. We will meet our private helicopter at the edge the one of the United States’ most magnificent parks, set in the most rugged of surroundings. For the next hour you will be amazed and thrilled as we fly over this one million acre geological wonder. You will be treated to a bird’s-eye view of over 15 active glaciers, gushing waterfalls--some falling as far at 1500 feet-- and pristine lakes of indescribable beauty. The photographic opportunities will be without limit as your pilot glides in and around the mountain peaks and valleys of one of our greatest natural areas. This park is home to grizzlies, black bear, moose, elk, deer and wolves as well as big horn sheep and prized mountain goats, so keep your camera ready.

Upon landing, we will begin our journey into the park where you will check into the historic hunting lodge located deep in Montana itself, with origins dating back to the early 1900’s. You will quickly get a feel for the land you’ll call home for the next 24 hours. You will join the lodge home keepers for a hearty lunch in their unique fireside dining room before heading out to explore this rustic property, located on the park’s largest glacial body of water. The afternoon is free to partake of any number of activities available from this area: hiking, canoeing, fishing, horseback riding, and more sightseeing, a nice massage out by the lake, or a tour of the lake by vintage boat.

Day 2:
This morning we will depart the park and join our hot air balloon pilot for a memorable adventure over this beautiful valley. Put your student cap on because you can also become a part of the crew to get it ready for take off! Once aloft, we will be surrounded by mountains as we float with the wind, skimming over fields and rivers while enjoying the peace and solitude only found in the quietness of a hot air balloon. You will see glaciers on one side, glistening lakes on the other and the rivers that wander between them all with perhaps an eagle soaring alongside. We will entice you to land by providing a gourmet picnic lunch in the shadow of the surrounding mountain range. After some free time to reflect on your experience, we will return to our private plane for our flight back to Coeur d’Alene or Spokane.
