Day 2: We will enjoy a wonderful introduction to the wildlife of Yellowstone today. Large herds of bison and elk, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, grizzly and black bears, eagles, coyotes and wolves co-habitate this area. There will be time for photography of these spectacular animals and then we will enjoy a picnic lunch with a moderate hike to explore waterfalls and the Yellowstone River. This afternoon you are free to explore historic Fort Yellowstone and the Visitors Center or an easy walk to view the largest travertine terraces in the world.
Day 3: We will travel to Lamar Valley at daybreak for a chance to see bears and wolves in the wild. After setting up at our overlook, we will patiently wait for our first sightings of the day. Wildlife watching in Yellowstone is amazing and we never know what the day may bring. We may enjoy an easy hike to visit an abandoned bear or wolf den and then return to the hotel for time to relax. This evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner with our guides and a chance to exchange stories.
Day 4: This morning we will check out of the lodge and begin our trip back to the airport for your return home.
